Privacy Policy
1) Information We Collect
- Account Information. When you create an account via email/password, Sign in with Apple, or Google Sign-In, we collect your email address and authentication details (and, if provided by the provider, your display name).
- User Content. Journal entries and other information you input in the App. Entries are private and tied to your account.
- Purchases. If you subscribe to premium features, Apple provides us purchase status/receipts to enable access. We do not receive your card or full billing details.
- Usage & Diagnostics. App usage information, performance metrics, and crash logs collected via Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to improve reliability and experience.
- Location. We do not collect precise or coarse location data.
2) How We Use Information
- App Functionality. Provide account access, securely store/retrieve journal entries, and enable subscriptions.
- Analytics & Improvements. Understand feature usage to improve performance and usability.
- Diagnostics. Identify and fix crashes, bugs, and service issues.
- Aggregated & Anonymized Insights. We may analyze anonymized and aggregated data across users (for example, how often certain topics are selected) to identify trends, improve the App, or create educational or informational content. Such aggregated data will never include personally identifiable information or your individual journal entries. This information is not sold to any 3rd parties.
- Compliance. Meet legal and platform requirements.
4) Data Security
We take the security and privacy of your journal entries seriously. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures, leveraging the robust security infrastructure provided by Google's Firebase platform, which acts as our data processor.
The critical security measures we employ include:
- Encryption In Transit and At Rest: Your data, including journal entries, is secured through industry-standard encryption. Data is encrypted when sent between your device and our servers (in transit, via HTTPS/TLS) and is stored in an encrypted format on Firebase's servers (at rest).
- Strict Access Control: We rely on Firebase Authentication to verify your identity and, most importantly, we implement server-side **Firebase Security Rules**. These rules are designed to ensure **User-Level Isolation**, meaning only your authenticated account can read, modify, or delete your specific journal entries. No other user can access your private data.
- Physical Security: Your data is stored within Google's highly secure data centers, which are protected by extensive physical and digital security measures.
However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
5) Your Rights & Choices
- Access & Update. View or update account information within the App where available.
- Deletion. Request deletion of your account and associated data by hitting 'delete account' in your profile screen, or by contacting us at jack@buildsystemsnow.com Data is kept for 30 days after account deletion, after which point it is permanently deleted..
- Subscriptions. Manage your subscription in the App Store: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- Analytics Preferences. Where platform settings allow, you may limit analytics or personalized diagnostics on your device.
6) Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn that such information has been collected, we will delete it promptly.
7) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Your continued use of the App after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
